Terry Fox Run & Kidney Walk
When: September 15
Where: North Bay, Sudbury and various other locations

The Terry Fox Run is an annual charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox, and his Marathon of Hope, and to raise money for cancer research.

Every year, some 15,000 volunteers and participants gather at Kidney Walks in communities throughout the country to raise awareness and funds for those affected by kidney disease.

Apple Picking & Wagon Ride Orchard Tours
When: September to end of October
Where: Avalon Orchards, Innisfil

There is no admission to pick at our orchard, except for a smile and a promise to be caring with our trees and our environment. 45 min tours are provided weekdays and include a wagon ride through the orchard, a small bag of apples for each person, a brief talk about how apples are organically grown and how to pick them, and a short woodland walk. We wrap up the tour with questions and answers and everyone is treated to fresh apple cider! While we require at least 20 people for a tour we can often combine smaller groups.

Cinefest Sudbury International Film Fest
When: September 14-22
Where: Various, Sudbury

Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival, also known as Cinéfest and Cinéfest Sudbury is an annual film festival in Sudbury, Ontario, held over nine days each September. It is one of the largest film festivals in Canada. First held in 1989, Cinéfest quickly became a popular destination for Canadian filmmakers.

International Plowing Match
When: September 17-21
Where: Verner, West Nippising

The IPM provides a unique tourist experience as it is hosted in a different part of Ontario each year on prime agricultural land. The IPM showcases the host region and builds on the specific features of the region where the event is taking place.

On average, over 80,000 people attend the event each year over the course of five days. The event welcomes people of all ages from both rural and urban communities.

The IPM is jam-packed with things to do: daily entertainment from live bands to a rodeo, plowing competitions, over 500 exhibitors, food vendors, an interactive education area and animals, lifestyles and quilting exhibits, and much more. Come join us to have fun, shop, learn, cheer on plowing competitors and tour the community. You can’t experience it all in one day!

Axe Throwing Fundraiser

CIBC Run for the Cure
